Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lance Legstrong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mikaiah Rynn!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Thiago Cunha and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rynn wants to clinch but Legstrong slips to the side

and Legstrong counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Rynn!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Legstrong throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Legstrong wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rynn keeps working.

Legstrong postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rynn can do anything to dispel that myth.

Legstrong tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Legstrong has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Rynn really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Legstrong. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rynn felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Legstrong is working to tighten his grip on Rynn's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Rynn has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Legstrong is really squeezing tight and eventually Rynn passes out! Legstrong breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Lance Legstrong!
Lance Legstrong decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
