The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dong throws a predictable looking body shot

so Rudd counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Dong wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Rudd throwing strikes from guard but Dong blocks nicely.
Dong wants to sweep here but Rudd controlling him for the moment.
Dong keeping moving, preventing Rudd from controlling successfully.
Rudd wants to get up but he can't break Dong's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Rudd is stalling in the full guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Rikki Rudd wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
A swing and a miss from Dong.
Rudd fails with the takedown.
Rudd tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Dong defends well and Rudd ends up having to push Dong into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
A short right from Dong.
Rudd tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Dong's elbow.
Rudd jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dong walks away with a smile on his face. Rudd gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rikki Rudd. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rudd just misses with a punch to the body.
Rudd has been working on his balance at Cozad The Island, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Dong.
Dong throws a good cross that connects.
Dong scores with a shot to the body.

Rudd tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Dong defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Rudd.
Rudd is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A nice combination there by Dong.

Dong lands a big right hand that sends Rudd crashing to the mat! Dong stays standing though and waves Rudd back to his feet!
Dong fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Rudd square on the jaw! Damn, Rudd is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!
