The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Junttila gets a takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Junttila wants to pass to mount but Makunouchi is defending the position.

Junttila is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Makunouchi wants to get back to his feet.
Junttila is looking to advance position but Makunouchi won't allow it.
Junttila is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Makunouchi is looking to get back to is feet but Junttila passes into side control.

Junttila tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Junttila is looking to take a break and control but Makunouchi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Makunouchi explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Makunouchi stuffs the takedown attempt from Junttila. Junttila gets slowly back to his feet.
Makunouchi throws a nice looking combination but Junttila bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Makunouchi fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

It looks like Pertti Junttila has been cut.
Makunouchi lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Makunouchi drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Junttila's head, knocking him out cold! Makunouchi is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.
