Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Werner Foreman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathan Maskrey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Foreman scores with a head kick. Maskrey tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Foreman defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Maskrey.
Foreman shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Maskrey fails with the takedown.
Foreman stuffs the takedown.
Werner Foreman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nathan Maskrey.
Foreman swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Foreman dives in for a single leg takedown but Maskrey sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Maskrey working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Maskrey is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Werner Foreman has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Maskrey lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Maskrey is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Foreman gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Foreman drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Maskrey drops down looking for an ankle pick but Foreman pulls his leg out and moves away.

Maskrey will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Maskrey looks for a takedown but Foreman sprawls well.

Maskrey shoots for a double leg takedown but Foreman sprawls well. He's pushed Maskrey's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Maskrey throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Foreman.

Maskrey leaves Foreman with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Well Maskrey has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
