Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bob Sapp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Hunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bob Sapp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Hunt!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hunt moves into the clinch successfully.
Hunt with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
A frustrated look appears on Sapp's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Sapp wants to get back to striking at distance but Hunt won't allow it.

Sapp's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Sapp throws a hook but Hunt avoids it easily.
Hunt fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hunt is looking to clinch.

Sapp gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Hunt has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Sapp avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Sapp is trying to break free.
Hunt wants a takedown but no success here.
Hunt displaying some good clinch control by pressing Sapp up against the cage.

Sapp's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hunt fails to land with a series of punches.
Sapp throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Sapp feints and as Hunt raises his hands in defense, Sapp changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Hunt can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Sapp controls the pace.
Sapp seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hunt for as long as he can get away with.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Bob Sapp just wasn't active enough.
Hunt shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Sapp moves into the clinch.
Bob Sapp has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Hunt.
Hunt is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Sapp gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Hunt goes for a takedown attempt but Sapp pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Sapp gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Hunt takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Hunt pushes off an throws an elbow but Sapp leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Hunt tries to break the clinch but Sapp is controlling the position.
Hunt is trying to drag Sapp to the mat but Sapp just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Sapp is looking to break free of the clinch but Hunt has double underhooks.

Sapp breaks from the clinch.
Sapp moves in looking to clinch but Hunt pushes him off.

Hunt moves into the clinch.
Hunt has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. So far he's outscoring his opponent in the clinch so it seems to have been worthwhile.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sapp is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Sapp is trying to push Hunt away but Hunt has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hunt jumps guard but Sapp stands there with Hunt around his waist. Hunt gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Sapp tries to land knees in the clinch but Hunt avoids the damage to the body.

Hunt successfully pulls guard.
Hunt is trying to control the position but Sapp postures up.
Hunt keeping moving, preventing Sapp from controlling successfully.
Sapp works over Hunt with some ground and pound from guard.
Sapp trying to control but Hunt is working from the bottom.
Sapp is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Sapp not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

We're going to have a standup here because Bob Sapp wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Sapp tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hunt swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Sapp thows a body shot but no joy.
Sapp goes for a double leg but Hunt avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Hunt continues to drive forward.
Sapp wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Hunt has him pressed against the cage.
Hunt is looking for a takedown.
Hunt is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Hunt tries to land knees in the clinch but Sapp avoids the damage to the body.
Hunt is trying to pull guard but Sapp turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Sapp breaks the clinch.
Sapp throws a head kick that misses.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sapp doesn't manage to clinch there - Hunt circles away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sapp closes the distance and lands a one-two.


It looks like Mark Hunt has been cut.
Hunt falls off balance throwing a combination
and Sapp counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Hunt looks winded!
Hunt avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
The fight stays on the outside here - Sapp looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Sapp dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Mark Hunt's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Sapp is looking to clinch.
Hunt looks to land a combination but Sapp avoids it well.

Sapp lands a big uppercut and Hunt crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Hunt looks OK. Sapp waves Hunt back to his feet!


Hunt is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sapp tries to clinch up.
Hunt is still on wobbly legs! Can Sapp finish him?
Bob Sapp is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Hunt tries to keep at a distance but Sapp has taken the fight into the clinch.
Hunt seems to have recovered his senses.
Hunt tries to pull guard but Sapp holds him up against the cage and eventually Hunt drops back down to his feet.
Sapp is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Hunt on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Sapp breaks from the clinch.
Horrible takedown by Hunt or perhaps it was just good defense by Sapp which made him look bad.

Hunt is breathing heavily.
Sapp wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Hunt tries for a takedown. No joy.

Sapp wants to get back to striking at distance but Hunt won't allow it.

Sapp closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hunt to the mat! Hunt manages to get full guard.
Sapp with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Sapp stops Hunt from standing up.
Hunt keeping moving, preventing Sapp from controlling successfully.
Sapp passes into half guard.
Still in half guard, Sapp seems content to control.
Sapp wants to pass to mount but Hunt is defending the position.

Sapp controlling the pace.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Bob Sapp wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Sapp closes the distance and pushes Hunt back into the cage.
Hunt wants a takedown but no success here.
Hunt has Sapp pressed against the cage, preventing Sapp from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Hunt has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Sapp is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Hunt lands a body punch.
Hunt tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Sapp smiles and moves away.
Hunt is trying hard to land a takedown here. Sapp sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Sapp drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Sapp trying to control the position from guard on top but Hunt is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Sapp gets to his feet - Hunt follows without any prompting.
Sapp tries to clinch there but Hunt circles away.
Hunt looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Sapp is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hunt can do to turn this around?

Sapp shoots in and bounces Hunt off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Hunt keeping full guard, as Sapp tries to pass.

Sapp drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Sapp as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Hunt screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Sapp! Nice submission victory there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Bob Sapp!
Bob Sapp was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
