Marques's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, mosh. Fabio Marques could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to JoJo Kush's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Marques enables Kush to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Marques manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Marques is looking to stand up but Kush isn't so interested in that idea.
Kush is looking to work some ground and pound but Marques has wrist control.
Kush with a flurry of punches that miss.
Kush wants to control from the top but Marques keeps moving.
Kush content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Kush stops Marques from standing up.
Kush with a nice head shot there.
Kush seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Marques is looking to stand up but Kush won't let him.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kush lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Marques!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Marques takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Marques's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Kush with a couple of short strikes.

It looks like Fabio Marques has been cut.
Kush working the ground and pound effectively.
Kush pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Marques might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Marques is breathing heavily.

Marques is in a horrible position here. Kush smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Kush lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Marques! Kush sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Marques and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!
