PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Maskrey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Kyznetsov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maskrey comes to the cage accompanied by Amazing- Kanye West. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Nathan Maskrey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ryan Kyznetsov!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Atkins and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kyznetsov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Maskrey but Maskrey pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Maskrey scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kyznetsov makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Maskrey shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Kyznetsov eats them both and turns towards Maskrey to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Kyznetsov shoots in for a takedown but Maskrey shows good takedown defense.
Kyznetsov is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Kyznetsov moves to clinch but Maskrey breaks away

and Maskrey counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kyznetsov won't be happy with that.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Maskrey misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Maskrey is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kyznetsov is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Kyznetsov bucks up and tries to throw Maskrey off but instead Maskrey has got his back!

Maskrey is hanging on to Kyznetsov's back as he tries to escape.
Kyznetsov is trying to stand back up.
Maskrey struggling to keep hold of the position.
Kyznetsov is really stuck here.

Maskrey has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Kyznetsov has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Maskrey's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Kyznetsov looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Maskrey really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Maskrey looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Maskrey will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Kyznetsov tries to roll but Maskrey sticks to his back.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Maskrey goes for a takedown attempt but Kyznetsov pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Maskrey will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kyznetsov wants to control but Maskrey is keeping him busy.

Kyznetsov is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Maskrey knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Maskrey tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kyznetsov wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Kyznetsov is looking to take a break and control but Maskrey is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kyznetsov goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Maskrey rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Kyznetsov's guard! Nice work there by Maskrey!
Kyznetsov manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Maskrey wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Kyznetsov prevents Maskrey from getting the reversal.

Maskrey pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Maskrey uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kyznetsov.

Kyznetsov is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Kyznetsov slows the pace down in half guard.
Kyznetsov works his way into full mount!

Kyznetsov is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Maskrey can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Kyznetsov breaks from Maskrey's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Kyznetsov is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Maskrey has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Maskrey!
Maskrey would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Maskrey trying to control but Kyznetsov is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kyznetsov controls Maskrey momentarily but Maskrey frees himself.
Kyznetsov lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Maskrey!
Kyznetsov lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

BOOM! Kyznetsov connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Kyznetsov is looking to work his way around to Maskrey's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.
Maskrey tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Maskrey wants to control but Kyznetsov is having none of it.
Maskrey tries to reverse the position but Kyznetsov maintains control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ryan Kyznetsov comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Kyznetsov has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
