PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eat Meat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ray Hunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys are coming into the fight with injuries so let's see if that has a bearing on the fight. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Eat Meat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ray Hunt!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, David Hoff and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunt fails with a takedown attempt.
Hunt looks winded!
Meat misses with a series of wild punches.
Meat scores with a hook.


It looks like Ray Hunt has been cut.
Meat throws a head kick that misses.
Meat throws a right hand that Hunt ducks under and follows up with a left that Hunt also avoids with ease.
Meat connects with a body shot that sends Hunt's belly button to the back.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Meat pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Meat fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Hunt checks it well.
Meat definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Meat cracks Hunt with a good jab.
Meat throws a body punch but Hunt moves out of range.
Meat pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Hunt closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Meat did well to prevent Hunt getting side control.

Hunt decides to stand and escape the position.
Meat misses with a kick to the body.

Meat throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Meat pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Meat digs a good body shot into Hunt's ribs.
Meat feints and then cracks Hunt's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hunt down.
Meat on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Meat throws a series of punches but Hunt moves out of range.
Hunt avoids the body shot from Meat.

Hunt gets the takedown into side control.

Hunt is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Meat is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Hunt lands a few punches from side control.

Meat trying to remain calm as Hunt controls from the top position.
Hunt has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hunt decides to stand up, so the ref orders Meat to his feet.
Meat throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Sloppy strikes from Meat. Those never looked like landing.
Meat misses with a wild body shot.

Hunt shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Hunt seems to be looking for submissions.

Hunt is working for a submission of some sort.

Meat is trying to stand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hunt is nestled in close to Meat, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Hunt stalling.
Hunt's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Hunt decides to stand up.

Hunt shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Meat's guard.

Hunt stands up from Meat's guard - Hunt perhaps looking for a knockout.
We've been informed that Hunt has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Eat Meat is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Meat throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Meat just misses with a punch to the body.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Meat throws a lazy head kick
and Hunt counters with a one-two to the body.
Meat feints a jab promting Hunt to slip. Meat then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Hunt slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Meat swinging wildly here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Ray Hunt will probably get the nod.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Meat tries a head kick but it misses.
Hunt uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Meat.
Meat throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hunt.

Meat tries to keep at a distance but Hunt has taken the fight into the clinch.
Meat is trying to pull guard but Hunt turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Hunt breaks from the clinch.
Some wild striking there from Meat.

Hunt shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Meat's guard.
Meat might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Meat wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Hunt manages to pass to side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hunt slows the pace down in half guard.
Meat tries to kick Hunt off but Hunt keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hunt is nestled in close to Meat, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Hunt is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Ray Hunt has got the better of the ground game so far.
Meat is looking to escape.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Hunt is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Meat is just riding it out for now. Hunt eventually gives up the hold.

Well, if Hunt is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Meat knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hunt on the ground.
Hunt is trying to control. Meat wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Meat tries to kick Hunt off but Hunt keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Hunt seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Hunt keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ray Hunt showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Meat swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Hunt holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Meat wants to take the fight to the mat but Hunt manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Meat working hard to break the clinch.

Hunt pulls guard effortlessly.
Meat has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hunt is proving hard to escape from.

Hunt is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Meat has his hands clasped together but Hunt extends and breaks Meat's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Hunt.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Ray Hunt!
