Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Peter Sunshine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vanapa Animai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Animai is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Here comes the hotstepper. Vanapa Animai has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vanapa Animai!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and Dillan Fox.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Animai scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Sunshine wants to control but Animai postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sunshine is looking to regain half guard here but Animai keeps moving and retains side control.
Sunshine is pushing Animai's head away, looking to escape. Animai manages to hold on to the position though.
Sunshine is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at EUOLUCAO MMA that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Animai tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Animai has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Animai tries for a kimura but Sunshine is defending well.

Animai goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Sunshine has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Animai but great work by Sunshine.
Animai is trying to improve his position.

Sunshine decides to stand back up. Sunshine steps back and let's Animai get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Animai doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Sunshine makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Animai walks into a straight right hand from Sunshine.
Sunshine looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Sunshine fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Animai shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sunshine as he avoids it easily.
Animai throws a nice looking combination but Sunshine bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

and Sunshine counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Peter Sunshine has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vanapa Animai.
Animai looks winded!

Sunshine cracks Animai with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Sunshine has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Animai to stand back up!
Nice defenses there by Animai.
Animai goes for a double leg but Sunshine avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Sunshine continues to drive forward.

Sunshine manages to break the clinch.
Animai is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Sunshine doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Animai crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Animai's bad books for that mishap!

A relieved looking Peter Sunshine thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
