Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Verush Manakain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Staller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Patrick Staller is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Verush Manakain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Patrick Staller!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Dillan Fox and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Staller looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Staller prevents Manakain from getting back to his feet.
Staller is standing up over Manakain. Manakain looks to escape but Staller dives into side control.
An elbow from Staller crashes against the mat.

Staller swings around for an armbar but Manakain sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Staller's guard.

Staller had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Manakain defends it easily.
Manakain wants to pass the guard but Staller is keeping the position.
Our spies down at at Machine Shop Training Center inform us that Staller has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Manakain not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Manakain won't allow Staller to sweep him here.
Staller is trying to hold Manakain in close to prevent damage but Manakain has managed to pass into half guard.
Staller trying to hold on to Manakain's head to control him but Manakain postures up.
Staller gets full guard.
Staller is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Staller striking off his back but it's not causing Manakain any problems.
Staller wants to hit a switch here but Manakain passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Staller there!
Staller is wriggling around trying to escape.

Manakain is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Manakain throws a combination that misses

and Staller counters with a shoot takedown. Manakain fights it but they end up in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Staller working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Staller looking to sit in guard and control but Manakain gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Manakain wants to stand but Staller has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Staller looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Manakain passes into side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Staller keeping his opponent close.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Staller is looking for a sweep.
Staller struggling a bit here.
Staller manages to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Staller is looking to improve his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Staller wants to control but Manakain is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Manakain knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Staller on the ground.

Staller looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Manakain postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Staller to stand up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Staller darts in looking for a takedown but Manakain gets double underhooks and turns Staller into the cage.

Manakain breaks the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Patrick Staller dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Sloppy strikes from Manakain. Those never looked like landing.
Staller has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Manakain lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Staller circles away quickly and effectively.
Staller closes the distance and clinches up with Manakain, looking for a takedown. Staller pushes Manakain against the cage but Manakain circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Staller tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Manakain defends well and Staller ends up having to push Manakain into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Manakain is trying to maintain a safe position but Staller gets an underhook and turns Manakain into the cage.
Manakain prevents the takedown attempt.
Verush Manakain has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patrick Staller.
Staller is looking to take this one to the mat.

Manakain pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Manakain scores with the left hand. Staller knows he should have avoided that one.
Manakain throws a leg kick but Staller moved away.
Staller fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Staller uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Manakain.
Manakain falls off balance throwing a combination

and Staller counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Staller.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Manakain keeping full guard, as Staller tries to pass.
Staller postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Staller drops back, looking for a kneebar! Manakain looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Manakain looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Manakain!
Staller is trying to get back to half guard.
Manakain tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Staller is looking for a sweep.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Manakain decides to stand back up. Manakain steps back and let's Staller get back to his feet.
Manakain tries to bum rush Staller with a series of wild strikes but Staller uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Verush Manakain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Manakain misses with a double jab.
Staller closes this distance looking for a takedown but Manakain circles away.
Staller bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Manakain bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Staller is trying to improve his position.
Staller gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Staller keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Staller trying to hold on to Manakain's head to control him but Manakain postures up.
We've been hearing that Manakain has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Staller is trying to get back to full guard.
Staller trying to control from the bottom.
Staller manages to get to full guard.

Staller is looking for a triangle but Manakain pushes his legs off easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Staller controls Manakain momentarily but Manakain frees himself.
Patrick Staller has got the better of the ground game so far.
Staller doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Staller looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Manakain has picked Staller up and slammed him! Staller can't keep hold of the triangle and Manakain manages to pass to side control!
Staller struggling a bit here.

Manakain decides to stand back up. Manakain steps back and let's Staller get back to his feet.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Manakain feints a jab promting Staller to slip. Manakain then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Staller slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Staller showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Manakain.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Verush Manakain dominated that second round.
That's time! Back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Staller throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Manakain's waist but Manakain gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Staller off to one side.
Manakain throws an overhand right that has Staller reeling! Manakain follows up with more punches and Staller is out cold! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:13 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Verush Manakain!
