The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reeder shoots and misses
and Monkey counters with a straight right hand.
Reeder looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Monkey lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Reeder misses with a takedown attempt

and Monkey counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Monkey controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Monkey passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Monkey has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Reeder!
Monkey lands a nice shot to the head.

Monkey is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Reeder has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Monkey controlling the pace for now.
Monkey has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Monkey looking to control but Reeder is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Monkey has hold of Reeder's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Reeder manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Monkey will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
