Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Oscar Avila (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dario Rocha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Oscar Avila has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dario Rocha!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Dirk Anderson and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Avila scores with a three punch combo!
Rocha looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Avila rushes Rocha and presses him up against the cage.
Rocha is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Avila is defending well.

Avila pulls Rocha into guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Rocha trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Avila tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Avila is looking for a triangle but Rocha pushes his legs off easily.

Avila manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Avila uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Rocha has time to react.

Avila closes the distance and pushes Rocha back into the cage.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Rocha as Avila tries to tie him up.
Rocha drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Rocha drops down looking for an ankle pick but Avila pulls his leg out and moves away.

Rocha keeps control of Avila as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Avila working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Avila throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Rocha works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Rocha really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Avila. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Avila is trying to control the action in half guard but Rocha is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Avila seems to be looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Avila thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rocha's head.

Avila changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rocha looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

We've been informed that Rocha has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Avila thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Avila is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Rocha has escaped the position, nice work there.

Rocha is breathing heavily.

Avila tries to score with some ground and pound. Rocha controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
You can see the frustration on Rocha's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Avila sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Rocha is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Rocha tries to buck Avila off but Avila is having none of it.

Avila stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Avila shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Rocha manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Avila stands up and waves to Rocha to follow him.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rocha tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Avila avoids it.

Avila manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Avila is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Rocha is in close to Avila's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Avila looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Rocha passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Rocha creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Avila is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Rocha is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rocha is defended easily by Avila.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Avila is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Rocha can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Dario Rocha has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Rocha sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Oscar Avila is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
