Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jonny Daniels!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dan Jones!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, John Mangel and Chris Dean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Jones throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Daniels forces Jones back against the cage and clinches.
Jones is trying to force a seperation but Daniels has the dominant position.

Daniels's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Jones is looking to clinch.

Daniels instigates a clinch.
Jones is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Jones gets underhooks to prevent Daniels's takedown attempt.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Daniels wants a takedown but no success here.
Daniels is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Jones gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jonny Daniels. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jones goes for a takedown in the clinch but Daniels prevents it.

Daniels definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Jones closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Daniels's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Jones has eaten all the pies!

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Dan Jones.
Daniels moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Daniels moves into the clinch.
Jones is looking to take this one to the mat.
Jones is pressed up against the cage. Daniels has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Jones down to the mat. Jones avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Daniels thuds a left hand into Jones's body.
Daniels stuffs the takedown attempt from Jones. Jones gets slowly back to his feet.

Daniels closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Daniels breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Daniels dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Jones.
Jones looks winded!
Daniels tries to bench press Jones off him but Jones keeps the position.
Daniels wants to control but Jones postures up.
Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Daniels. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Daniels wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Daniels is looking for a sweep.

Jones is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Daniels is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Jones tries to stand but Daniels is controlling his head.

Daniels is trying to buck Jones off.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Jones trying to control the position but Daniels is working away.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Daniels trying to remain calm as Jones controls from the top position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Dan Jones's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Daniels jabs Jones to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Jones tries to clinch there but Daniels circles away.
Jones fails with a takedown attempt.

Daniels gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Daniels has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Jones has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Daniels is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Jones pulls him back up using the underhooks.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jones tries to pull guard but Daniels holds him up against the cage and eventually Jones drops back down to his feet.

Daniels drags the fight down to the ground.
Daniels is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Jones wants to control from the top but Daniels keeps moving.

Daniels trying to keep a closed guard but Jones is proving a slippery customer.
Daniels bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jones's guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jones can do anything to dispel that myth.
Daniels stops Jones from standing up.
Daniels wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.
Daniels is looking to stand up but Jones won't let him.
Jones is trying to control the position but Daniels postures up.
Daniels trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Daniels trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Jones tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Daniels manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Jones takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Daniels scores with a jab to the body.
Jones is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Daniels fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Jones on the side of the head.
Daniels scores with a crisp jab that stopped Jones in his tracks.
Jones wants to clinch up but Daniels keeps it at a distance.

Daniels cracks Jones with an uppercut from hell and Jones crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Daniels's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!


Jones is rocked!
Jones is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Daniels is controlling him.
Daniels trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Daniels drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Daniels jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Jones keeping moving, preventing Daniels from controlling successfully.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Jonny Daniels has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Jones dives in and grabs Daniels's left leg, looking for a takedown. Daniels pushes down on Jones's head and hops out.
Jonny Daniels has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dan Jones.
Jones tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Daniels defends well and Jones ends up having to push Daniels into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Jones wants to break the clinch but can't.

Daniels manages to break the clinch.
Daniels scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Jones doesn't seem bothered though.

Daniels closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Jones quickly recovers to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jones tries to get to full guard but Daniels has control of the leg.
Dan Jones has got the better of the ground game so far.
Daniels working Jones over with strikes.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jones is trying to get back to full guard.
Daniels lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Daniels wants to control but Jones is keeping him busy.
Daniels moves into full mount! Jones won't be happy about that!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Daniels prevents Jones from getting the reversal.
Jones tries to hold on but Daniels pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jonny Daniels dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Dan Jones's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Daniels tries to close the distance and clinch but Jones swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jones swats away the attempt to clinch by Daniels.
Daniels lands with a cross.
Jones gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Daniels gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Jones is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:22 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jonny Daniels!
