Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Antoino Lombardo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Mera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Antoino Lombardo has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Antoino Lombardo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Jose Mera!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Patrick Alders and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mera staying out of range there.
A big left from Lombardo misses.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Lombardo throws a hook but Mera blocks it.
Lombardo throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Mera sees it coming and avoids it easily.

No joy there for Lombardo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Lombardo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Lombardo catches Mera with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Mera has Lombardo up against the cage in a clinch.

Mera sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Lombardo's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mera cracks Lombardo with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The referee warns Lombardo that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Mera can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Lombardo is looking to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lombardo is squirming around, avoiding Mera's attempts to control the action.

Mera has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Lombardo has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Lombardo feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Meras jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Mera takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Mera has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Mera there as he acknowledges the shot.

Mera seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lombardo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Mera throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Lombardo was covering up waiting for the punch and Mera finishes the takedown easily into guard.
