Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kal El (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and D Dub Deborde (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
El is looking to clinch but Deborde is avoiding it.
Deborde connects with a body shot.

Deborde closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Deborde lands in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
El keeping full guard, as Deborde tries to pass.

Deborde decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on El, up you get!
Horrible takedown by Deborde or perhaps it was just good defense by El which made him look bad.
Deborde shoots in looking for a takedown. El tries to sprawl out of it but Deborde keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. El manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Deborde is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Deborde fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Kal El has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of D Dub Deborde.
Nice takedown defense from El. No joy for Deborde on that attempt.
Deborde shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says El as he avoids it easily.

Deborde misses the jab.

El tests Deborde's chin there with a solid looking shot.

It looks like D Dub Deborde has been cut.
El misses with a wild combination.

Deborde tries to keep at a distance but El has taken the fight into the clinch.
El can't break the clinch.

El breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A left lands for El.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
El shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Deborde keeps the fight on the outside.
A big left from Deborde misses.
El tries to clinch up

and Deborde decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in El's guard.
El looking to hit a scissor sweep but Deborde is one step ahead there.
Deborde wants to control from the top but El keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Deborde trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
El tries to land a sweep but no joy.

El is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
El trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
El is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Deborde passes El's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
El flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now El is on top in guard.
Deborde looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
El postures up.
Deborde can't keep his opponent in guard - El advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Deborde is looking for a sweep. El is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
El wants to take a breather but Deborde is having none of it.
El sitting and controlling from the half guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Deborde is trying to get back to full guard.
El is stalling here. Deborde is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! El seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Deborde has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
El is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Deborde tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
El gets full guard.

Deborde drops back, looking for a kneebar! El looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. El looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from El!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

El looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Deborde tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but El wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kal El dominated that round.
The cut man is working on D Dub Deborde's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

El smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Deborde tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but El swivels and escapes.
El wants to clinch.
Deborde sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
El slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Deborde walks into a jab.
El fails to land with a series of punches.
El works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
El throws an overhand right that drops Deborde like a sack of potatoes! El dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
