PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Romano Redz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Dulin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Romano Redz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Dulin!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Daniel Blasius and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dulin drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Redz throws a hook but Dulin blocks it.
Dulin wants to clinch.
Redz scores with a hook to the body. Dulin takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Redz throws a looping overhand right but Dulin ducks down to avoid it.
No joy there for Dulin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Dulin staying out of range there.
Dulin wants to clinch.
Redz keeps the fight on the outside.

Dulin takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Redz loads up on a big right hand but Dulin slips the punch.
Dulin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Redz moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Dulin uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Redz.

Redz throws a series of punches but Dulin moves out of range.

Dulin gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Redz is pushing down on Dulin's leg trying to pass to half guard. Dulin is fighting to maintain full guard but Redz has managed to sneak the leg through.

Redz is working for a kimura but Dulin is defending it quite comfortably.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Dulin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Redz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Redz can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Dulin is looking to escape.
Redz wants to take his opponent's back but Dulin doesn't allow it.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Redz cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Redz with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
We've been hearing that Redz has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Dulin has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

Dulin is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Redz wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Dulin tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Redz manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Ivan Dulin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Redz lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Dulin backs up against the cage.

I would just about give that final round to Ivan Dulin.
