Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Al Campbell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ong Bak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ong Bak has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ong Bak!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Paul Gruel and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bak feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Bak must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Campbell wants to work for an arm triangle but Bak is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Bak strikes from the bottom but Campbell uses the opportunity to move to side control.
Bak tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Campbell presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Campbell has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
