The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barker jabs at Gracie's body.

Gracie shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Barker manages to get to full guard.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Gracie has eaten all the pies!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gracie accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Barker is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Gracie trying to control but Barker is working from the bottom.
Barker looking to control.
Barker has Gracie pulled in close to control his posture.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Vito Barker.

Barker shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Gracie manages to get to full guard.
Gracie looking to hit a scissor sweep but Barker is one step ahead there.
Barker has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Barker throws a big right hand that misses.
Gracie manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Barker manages to get himself to full guard.

Gracie passes into half guard.
Gracie wants to pass to mount but Barker is defending the position.
Gracie seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Barker does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Gracie stops Barker from getting back to his feet.
Gracie tries to pass to full mount but Barker defends it.
Gracie is keen to just control but Barker is a slippery customer.

Gracie is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Barker defends it well.

Barker is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gracie pulls his head out easily.
Barker is looking for a sweep. Gracie is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Gracie wants to pass to mount but Barker is defending the position.
Barker is staying active underneath Gracie, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gracie is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Barker doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gracie.

Barker is trying to stand up here but Gracie is controlling him well.

Gracie wants to free his trapped foot but Barker is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Gracie looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Barker is looking to improve his position.
Barker is breathing heavily.

Gracie is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Barker won't allow Gracie to pass to mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bubba Gracie dominated that round.
That's time! Barker's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Gracie shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Barker is doing well to control the position and prevent Gracie from advancing to side control.
Barker is trying to stand back up but Gracie is controlling him
Barker is trying to maintain the position but Gracie is very close to passing his half guard.
Gracie passes to side control.
Barker knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground.
