PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bob Loblaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Guil Ty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Loblaw comes into the arena with Bob Loblaw Song blaring out of the sound system. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bob Loblaw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Guil Ty!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Ty crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Loblaw - the referee stops the clock and Ty gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Loblaw. Ty manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Ty scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Loblaw avoids the body shot from Ty.
A chopping leg kick lands by Loblaw.
Loblaw uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Ty.
Loblaw throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Loblaw scores with a jab. Ty acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
A big right from Ty misses.
Ty jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Loblaw keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Ty.
Ty misses with an uppercut

and Loblaw counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Loblaw throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ty can do anything to dispel that myth.
Ty pushes Loblaw off but Loblaw dives into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Loblaw lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Ty tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Ty is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Loblaw connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Loblaw lands a big shot there that rocks Ty but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Ty's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Loblaw breaks from Ty's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Ty is still in real trouble! Can Loblaw finish him?

Ty wants to try and get back to his feet.
Ty seems to have recovered his senses.
The referee warns Ty that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Ty is bucking up trying to escape but Loblaw cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Ty really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Loblaw. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Loblaw looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Ty covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bob Loblaw!
