The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kuro is trying hard to land a takedown here. Natividad sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Kuro shoots in for a takedown but Natividad shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

We've been told by Natividad's head coaches at Elite Training Facility that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Ronuel Natividad has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryuku Kuro.

and Natividad counters with a big head kick but Kuro shrugs it off.

Kuro has Natividad pressed against the cage, preventing Natividad from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Natividad drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Kuro gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Natividad breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kuro fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Natividad avoids it really well and circles away.

Kuro looks like he's trying to stand up.
Natividad looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Natividad is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Kuro sees it coming and defends easily.
Kuro is not content to let Natividad control the position.
Kuro really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Natividad. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kuro is looking to escape.
Kuro has a hand on Natividad's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Natividad takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
