Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Diego Rios (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul George (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). George has chosen Popular-Nada Surf as his entrance music. Diego Rios has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Diego Rios!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paul George!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Paulo Santos and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
George looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
George has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Rios is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Nice uppercut there from Rios.
Rios scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
George misses the shot to the body.
Rios throws a series of punches but George moves out of range.
Rios works over George's head and body with a nice combination.
Rios misses with a double jab.

Rios misses with a few strikes there.
Rios lands with a right hand.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
George misses with a two punch combination.
George moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
George lands with a nice combination. Rios backs away looking to recover.
Rios goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rios with a hook.
Rios stalks George and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into George's face. George staggers backwards, shaken.
George avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
George shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rios as he avoids it easily.
The fight stays on the outside here - George looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
George throws a leg kick that is checked
and Rios counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Rios gets caught napping as George dives in and scores a takedown. Rios manages to retain guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

George is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Rios is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Rios has escaped and now he's on top!

Rios got a little sloppy there for a moment and George has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rios has managed to get both his arms back between George's legs - danger averted.

George tries to land a sweep but no joy.
George manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rios wants to try and get back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rios lands with a short head shot on the inside.

George has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Rios is trying to keep an underhook but George manages to get the takedown into half guard.

George throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

George seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Rios is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Paul George looked relieved post fight as he said the following; 'You people may not know my name, but you better get used to hearing it. I will beast any 155 pounder in Barbarian. Pepe, White, Silva, Granger, Roro, Sierra there is a new dog on the block. Brace yourselves'.
