PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Missa Okami (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ingmar Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott has chosen Ace Of Spades as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Roger Salmon and Micheangelo Fripello.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scott tries to clinch
and Okami counters with a left and a right that stings Scott.

Scott gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Okami is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Scott to keep the fight standing.

Scott's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Scott throws a lazy uppercut
and Okami counters with a series of strikes. Scott will be more careful next time no doubt.
A looping hook to the body misses from Scott. Okami does a little dance to reset his feet.
Okami avoids a punch combination nicely.
No joy there for Scott, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Scott tries to clinch but Okami moves out of range.

Scott darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Okami is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Scott seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Okami does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Scott postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Okami seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Scott really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Okami. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
