Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rico Ramano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mo Washington (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ramano comes to the cage accompanied by Hair of the Dog/Nazereth. Rico Ramano has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rico Ramano!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mo Washington!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramano throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Washington walks into a stiff left hand from Ramano.


It looks like Mo Washington has been cut.
Washington tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ramano swivels and escapes.

Washington shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ramano's guard.
Washington pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ramano is keeping the position for now.
Washington thows a big elbow that misses.
Ramano is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Washington thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Washington is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Washington won't allow Ramano to get back to his feet.
Washington stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ramano swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Washington shoots in for a double leg but Ramano sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Rico Ramano has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mo Washington.

Ramano works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Washington has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Ramano slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Washington.
Ramano tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Washington wants to improve his position but Ramano is controlling well.
Washington flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Ramano decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Washington looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ramano is fending him off so far but Washington persists. Nope, Ramano circles away and we're back to standing.
Washington shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ramano but Ramano pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Ramano clinches up against the cage.
Washington is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Ramano breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ramano swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ramano lands a high kick!
Ramano stuffs the takedown.
Ramano throws a head kick that half lands.

Ramano has closed the distance and engaged Washington in a clinch.

Washington takes an elbow to the forehead.

Ramano breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Washington will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Ramano throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Washington closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Washington is pressing down on Ramano's thigh, looking to free his foot. Ramano is holding on for now.

Washington is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Washington prevents Ramano from standing back up.
Washington throwing shots but Ramano is blocking nicely.
Ramano tries to get to full guard but Washington has control of the leg.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ramano wants to get back to his feet.
Washington working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rico Ramano dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Mo Washington's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Washington shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ramano as he jumps to the side.

Washington decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Ramano looks like he's trying to stand up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Washington tries to pass the half guard into mount. Ramano knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Washington throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Washington passes to full mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Washington working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Washington with a couple of short strikes.
Washington wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ramano is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Washington is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Ramano can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Washington jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Ramano manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Ramano is trying to buck Washington off.
Washington works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Ramano is pushing Washington's head away, looking to escape. Washington manages to hold on to the position though.

Washington thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Washington creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Ramano sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Washington tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Washington works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Washington goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Ramano has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Washington but great work by Ramano.
Washington is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Ramano off and has taken his back!

Even with his hooks in, Washington manages to miss with strikes from the back.
Ramano controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.

Washington is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Ramano is defending well though. Washington let's go of the attempt for now.

Washington working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Ramano is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Washington has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Ramano taps out!
