Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tomas Skalinskas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kia Turunen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Turunen comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Requiem for a Dream kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Tomas Skalinskas has the better chin. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Skalinskas misses with a double jab.
Turunen tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Skalinskas swivels and escapes.
Skalinskas throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Skalinskas swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Turunen.
Turunen shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Skalinskas pinned against the cage. Skalinskas gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Turunen takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Skalinskas will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Skalinskas lands a jab-cross combination.
A nice inside leg kick there by Skalinskas. That's going to slow Turunen down.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Turunen tries to clinch there but Skalinskas circles away.
Turunen avoids the head kick by Skalinskas.
Tomas Skalinskas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
