Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ceoghan Cartwright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karlos Kondiitti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cartwright comes into the arena with Disciples of Power - Born Unto Death blaring out of the sound system. Kondiitti has chosen Kuningas Pähkinä & Setä Tamu - Hei Scully as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ceoghan Cartwright!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Karlos Kondiitti!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cartwright blocks a jab.
Kondiitti displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Cartwright.
Kondiitti jabs at Cartwright's body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kondiitti. Cartwright does a little dance to reset his feet.
A solid leg kick lands there for Kondiitti.
Kondiitti throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kondiitti throws out a leg kick but Cartwright moves out of range and Kondiitti only half commits.
Kondiitti swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kondiitti gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Cartwright is trying to work for a kimura but Kondiitti is defending well.

Cartwright thows a huge punch but Kondiitti dodges it nicely.

Cartwright is looking to stall here but Kondiitti recovers full guard.
Cartwright drops back looking for a leg! Kondiitti is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kondiitti manages to kick Cartwright off! Cartwright jumps back into Kondiitti's guard.
Kondiitti told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cartwright drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cartwright jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Cartwright wants to pass the guard but Kondiitti is keeping the position.

Kondiitti really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cartwright. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Cartwright prevents Kondiitti from getting back to his feet.

Cartwright throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Cartwright is working Kondiitti over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Cartwright is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Cartwright postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kondiitti is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Cartwright, into his guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cartwright is looking for a triangle but Kondiitti pushes his legs off easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kondiitti would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Kondiitti got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cartwright has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kondiitti has managed to get both his arms back between Cartwright's legs - danger averted.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cartwright bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kondiitti's guard.
Cartwright slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cartwright shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kondiitti is trying to defend but Cartwright finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Cartwright is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Cartwright is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Kondiitti is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
