Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Claudio Vaughn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Micah Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Williams has chosen Gunwalk as his entrance music. Micah Williams will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Claudio Vaughn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Micah Williams!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams tries to clinch

and Vaughn counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Vaughn working some strikes from top position.
Vaughn postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Vaughn prevents Williams from getting back to his feet.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Vaughn keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Williams's head.

Williams is working an open guard so Vaughn takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Vaughn could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Williams wants to clinch but Vaughn slips to the side

and Vaughn counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Williams's guard now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Vaughn prevents Williams from getting back to his feet.
Vaughn lands a couple of elbows.
Vaughn is working Williams over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Vaughn is in close to Williams's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Vaughn works over Williams with some ground and pound from guard.
Williams is wriggling around but Vaughn manages to pass to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

and Vaughn counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Williams's guard now.
Vaughn won't allow Williams to get back to his feet.
Vaughn postures up and lands a big shot to Williams's brow.

Vaughn is working Williams over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Vaughn stops Williams from standing up.

Vaughn stands up and waves to Williams to follow him.
Williams wants to clinch

and Vaughn counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Vaughn lands with a left to the head.

Vaughn cracks Williams with a nice body shot.
Williams landing knees to the body.
Vaughn lands with a left to the head.
Vaughn tries to break the clinch but Williams is controlling the position.

Vaughn pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

so Vaughn counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Vaughn stops Williams from standing up.
Vaughn lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Vaughn working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Williams's head.
Williams wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Vaughn manages to pass to side control.
Vaughn winds up and cracks Williams with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Vaughn lands strikes from half guard.

Vaughn is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Vaughn stands up out of the half guard.
Williams tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Vaughn counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Williams wants to get back to his feet.
Vaughn landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Vaughn lands with a punch from half guard.
Williams really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vaughn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Vaughn gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Williams wants to clinch but Vaughn slips to the side

and Vaughn counters with a single leg into guard. Williams didn't expect that.

Vaughn stands up from Williams's guard - Vaughn perhaps looking for a knockout.
Williams closes the distance but Vaughn moves to the side

and Vaughn counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Williams is looking to stand back up but Vaughn counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Williams.
Williams looks winded!
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Vaughn lands a nice short elbow.

Vaughn is working for a kimura but Williams is defending it quite comfortably.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Vaughn slips a nice elbow through Williams's hands, connecting with Williams's forehead.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Vaughn connects with a nice short shot to Williams's temple.
Williams pushes Vaughn off looking to stand but Vaughn dives back in and keeps control.
Vaughn is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Nice strikes from Vaughn there.

Vaughn postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Williams to stand up.

Vaughn closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Williams to the mat! Williams manages to get full guard.
Vaughn lands a couple of decent looking shots.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Vaughn is standing up over Williams. Williams looks to escape but Vaughn dives into side control.
Vaughn landing strikes.
Williams tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Claudio Vaughn dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Vaughn shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Vaughn was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Vaughn stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Williams tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Vaughn counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Vaughn.

Vaughn is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Williams can't fight it off and eventually Vaughn manages to take the fight to the floor. Williams looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Williams is looking to stand up but Vaughn isn't so interested in that idea.

Vaughn stands up over Williams, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Vaughn connects with a couple of short punches.
Vaughn is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Vaughn might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Vaughn working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Vaughn has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Williams is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Vaughn dives into side control.
Vaughn lands a decent elbow from side control.

Vaughn cracks Williams with a big right hand but Williams just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Vaughn is standing up over Williams. Williams looks to escape but Vaughn dives into side control.
Williams is breathing heavily.

Vaughn has hold of Williams's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Williams seems comfortable defending it but Vaughn has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Williams is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Williams is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Vaughn couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Claudio Vaughn!
