PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rudolph White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Fisher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fisher comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Twinkie in a ding dong world kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! George Fisher has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Rudolph White!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, George Fisher!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Daniel Bishop and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
White is looking to clinch.

Fisher instigates a clinch.
White is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Fisher is defending well for now.

Fisher escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Fisher fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with White, pushing him back against the cage.
White is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
White is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Fisher to keep the fight standing.
Fisher pushes White back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
White on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Fisher breaks the clinch.
White could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Fisher will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Fisher shoots in and bounces White off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

White looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Fisher passes into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fisher trying to pass the guard but White defending well.
White avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Fisher.

Fisher is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Fisher thows a huge punch but White dodges it nicely.

Fisher darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Fisher wants to control but White is keeping him busy.

White is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Fisher pulls his head out easily.
Fisher is trying to control the action in half guard but White is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Fisher escapes and gets back to his feet.

White clinches up with Fisher and pushes him back against the cage.

Fisher has dropped down and is working for a takedown. White is trying to keep an underhook but Fisher manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Fisher is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

White tries to clinch but Fisher is having none of it.

White gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Fisher to score an easy takedown into full guard.
White can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Fisher controls the pace.

Fisher is keen to just control but White is a slippery customer.
Fisher tries to stand and escape but White is controlling the position.
White is trying to stand up here but Fisher is controlling him well.

White can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Fisher controls the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up. George Fisher was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Fisher manages to get an easy takedown there - catching White on his heels. He'll look to pass White's guard now, I'm sure.
Fisher postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

White bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Fisher's guard.

Fisher looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Fisher pushes White off and gets back to his feet.

White clinches with his opponent.

White breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Fisher shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. White is trying to defend but Fisher finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

George Fisher showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


White is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
George Fisher seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

White shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Fisher manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

White wants to control from the top but Fisher keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Fisher manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Fisher takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

White looking to slow down the pace here.
Fisher on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Fisher pulls guard successfully.
White keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Fisher's head.

White seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
White throws a big elbow that misses.

White gets to his feet - Fisher follows without any prompting.
Fisher slips a jab from White.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Fisher. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Fisher clinches with his opponent.

Fisher turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Fisher manages to end up in side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
White is looking to reverse the position.
White is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Fisher off and has taken his back!
White lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Fisher tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, White cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

White cracks Fisher with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
White lands with some strikes.

White avoids the attempt from Fisher to control.
White trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Fisher is looking to improve his position but White isn't that keen on the idea.
White lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
White controlling the position easily from mount.
Fisher sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Fisher is staying active underneath White, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
White wants to get back to his feet.

White looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Fisher is looking for a sweep. White is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Rudolph White has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
George Fisher is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

White is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Fisher is just riding it out for now. White eventually gives up the hold.

And that's the end of the fight!
Rudolph White showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Fisher has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
