And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Joe Bodyslam!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Micheangelo Fripello and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Bodyslam misses.

Roy drops down looking for an ankle pick but Bodyslam pulls his leg out and moves away.

Bodyslam breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Roy stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Bodyslam.

Bodyslam clinches up with Roy and pushes him back against the cage.
Roy goes for a takedown in the clinch but Bodyslam prevents it.

Bodyslam pulls Roy into guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Roy won't allow Bodyslam to sweep him here.
Roy has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Bodyslam is proving hard to escape from.

Roy is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Bodyslam has escaped the position, nice work there.
Bodyslam gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Bodyslam has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Roy is working away from the top position though.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Joe Bodyslam hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Roy postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bodyslam is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Roy, into his guard.

Bodyslam stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Roy swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Roy drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Bodyslam dives on top into guard.

Bodyslam is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Let's hope that Bodyslam has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Joe Bodyslam showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Roy drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Bodyslam manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Roy has Bodyslam in his guard.

Well Bodyslam has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
