The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffin showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Sonnen.
Griffin moves out of range as Sonnen throws a body kick.
Sonnen walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Griffin scores with a jab to the head.
Sonnen throws a hook but Griffin blocks it.
Sonnen uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Griffin.

Sonnen moves into the clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Griffin working hard to break the clinch.
Griffin is trying to break free.
Sonnen comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Sonnen jumps guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Sonnen keeping moving, preventing Griffin from controlling successfully.
Griffin has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Sonnen is proving hard to escape from.

Sonnen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Sonnen working for a triangle but Griffin defends it easily.
Sonnen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Griffin's guard.
Griffin is striking from the bottom but Sonnen uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
Griffin is trying to stand.

Griffin bucks up and tries to throw Sonnen off but instead Sonnen has got his back!

Sonnen working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Griffin is doing well to defend. Sonnen seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Griffin is forced to tap and this one is over!
