Rad comes to the cage accompanied by Kids Of The K-Hole. The crowd seem to be enjoying Magomedov's choice of entrance music: Ave Maria. Konstantin Magomedov has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Kickin Rad's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Konstantin Magomedov!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rad swings for the body but Magomedov moves out of range.
Magomedov stalks Rad and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Rad's face. Rad staggers backwards, shaken.
Magomedov works Rad's body with a nice hook.
Rad tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Magomedov fails with the takedown

and Rad counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
A bit of stalling here from Rad.
Rad misses with a punch on the inside.
Magomedov lands a shoulder strike.
Rad working aggressively here.
Magomedov lands with a light punch inside.
We've been informed that Magomedov has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rad doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Rad takes a shot to the head.
Magomedov lands with a short shot to the head.
Rad on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Magomedov creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

I was talking to Rad's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
With the fighters up against the cage, Rad throws an elbow but misses.
Rad lands a body shot in the clinch.

Magomedov tries to score a body lock takedown but Rad shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Magomedov tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Rad avoids it.

Rad is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Magomedov stops a takedown attempt from Rad.

Magomedov lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Rad has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Magomedov regains guard immediately.
Rad trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Rad pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Magomedov is keeping the position for now.
Magomedov keeping moving, preventing Rad from controlling successfully.
Rad looking to sit in guard and control but Magomedov gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Rad has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Magomedov can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Rad preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Rad is trying to keep Magomedov in close.

Rad is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rad manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Magomedov wants to hold on but Rad pushes him away.
Magomedov keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rad is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Magomedov is bucking up trying to escape but Rad cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Magomedov avoids a series of strikes thrown by Rad.
A nice elbow there by Rad.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Magomedov is trying desperately to improve position.
Rad looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Rad has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Magomedov's face.
Rad throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Rad misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Rad will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Poor strikes thrown by Rad there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Magomedov is looking to get to half guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Rad dominating with strikes here.
Rad thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Rad throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Magomedov misses with a wild body shot.
Rad takes a swing at Magomedov's ribcage but misses.
Rad just misses with a punch to the body.
Magomedov misses with a straight right.
Rad turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Rad shoots in but no luck this time.
Rad thows a body kick. Magomedov tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Magomedov lands a really nice looking cross but Rad seems unphased.
Rad avoids the head kick by Magomedov.
Rad lands a jab to the head.
Rad throws a nice inside leg kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
An inside leg kick lands from Rad.
Magomedov is breathing heavily.
Rad steps in with a hook that catches Magomedov right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Rad follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Magomedov looks absolutely devastated.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kickin Rad!
Kickin Rad is the new heavyweight champion!
Jumping up and down and very excited, Kickin Rad waved his t-shirt featuring Conviction's logo in front of the cameras.
