Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mark Calaway!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ryan Escobar!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Roosa Järviläinen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Calaway throws a body punch but Escobar moves out of range.
Escobar moves out of range of the strikes.
Calaway misses with a straight left.
Calaway has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Bad Pluto! in the buildup to the fight.
A jab from Calaway misses.
Mark Calaway seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Escobar throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Escobar keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Calaway throws a lazy right hand but Escobar sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Calaway lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.


It looks like Ryan Escobar has been cut.
Escobar moves away from the strike by Calaway.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Calaway throws a series of punches but Escobar avoids them all with ease.
Calaway loads up on a big right hand but Escobar slips the punch.
A punch combination from Calaway misses.
Calaway swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Calaway slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Calaway lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Escobar throws the left hand but Calaway avoids the punch easily.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Calaway misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Escobar.
Escobar walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Calaway throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Calaway gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Escobar sitting in guard here, content to control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Escobar pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Calaway is keeping the position for now.
Escobar is pushing down on Calaway's leg trying to pass to half guard. Calaway is fighting to maintain full guard but Escobar has managed to sneak the leg through.
Calaway is looking to get back to full guard here but Escobar has managed to pass to side control instead.
Calaway tries to bench press Escobar off him but Escobar keeps the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Escobar is looking to take a break and control but Calaway is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Escobar tries to move to mount but Calaway blocks the move with his legs.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Calaway dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Ryan Escobar's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Escobar moves out of range as Calaway strikes.
Calaway throws an overhand right that lands on Escobar's shoulder, as Escobar tries to avoid the shot.
A punch combination from Calaway misses.
Calaway throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Calaway drops Escobar with a beautiful combination! Escobar stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Calaway is looking for the KO!


Escobar is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Calaway measures up his opponent and throws a superman punch that connects to the jaw! Down goes Escobar! The ref steps in, and that's the ball game folks!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Mark Calaway!
