The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Horrible takedown by House or perhaps it was just good defense by Shamvlaev which made him look bad.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
House gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Shamvlaev counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Shamvlaev is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and House defends it well.

Shamvlaev is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so House is just riding it out for now. Shamvlaev eventually gives up the hold.

Shamvlaev has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can House defend it? Shamvlaev steps over the head and cranks it - House is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Shamvlaev!
