PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kokz Slice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Qwertyu Qwerty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kokz Slice!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Qwertyu Qwerty!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Dirk Anderson and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Qwerty shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Slice tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Qwerty paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Qwerty dives in and grabs Slice's left leg, looking for a takedown. Slice pushes down on Qwerty's head and hops out.

Slice manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Qwerty on his heels. He'll look to pass Qwerty's guard now, I'm sure.
Qwerty manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Slice manages to get himself to full guard.
Qwerty connects with a couple of short punches.
Qwerty stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Slice swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Slice looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Qwerty has picked Slice up and slammed him! Slice can't keep hold of the triangle and Qwerty manages to pass to side control!
Slice is looking for a sweep.
Qwerty tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Slice is looking to regain half guard here but Qwerty keeps moving and retains side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That's one minute gone in the round.
You can see the frustration on Slice's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Slice wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Qwerty postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Sloppy strikes there by Qwerty.
Slice tries to buck Qwerty off but Qwerty is having none of it.
Qwerty working away.
Slice looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Both fighters take a look at the clock.
Qwerty tries to stand but Slice is controlling his head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Qwerty connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Slice some visible discomfort.
Slice is trying to improve his position.
Slice on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Slice tries to get out of the position.
Qwerty wants to lay and pray for a moment but Slice keeps working.
Slice is looking to regain half guard here but Qwerty keeps moving and retains side control.
Qwerty tries to stand but Slice is controlling his head.
Qwerty looks winded!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Slice tries to escape but Qwerty is in control.
Slice knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Qwerty on the ground.

Qwerty working the ground and pound.
A control attempt from Slice but he's now mounted!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Qwerty avoids the attempt from Slice to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Qwerty working for a guillotine from mount but Slice is in no mood to give up.
Slice is desperately trying to improve his position but Qwerty has a good base and remains in mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Qwerty wants to control the pace but Slice is squirming around nicely.
Qwerty throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Slice manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Qwerty wants to stand up but Slice has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Slice wants to get back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Slice wants to improve his position but Qwerty is controlling well.
Slice is trying to control but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Qwertyu Qwerty will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Qwerty tries for a takedown but Slice circles away easily

and Slice counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Slice is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Qwerty defends it well.
Slice trying to pass the guard but Qwerty defending well.
Qwerty wants to get back to full guard.
Qwerty pushes Slice off looking to stand but Slice dives back in and keeps control.
Qwerty is breathing heavily.
Slice not doing much here.
Slice is keen to just control but Qwerty is a slippery customer.

Slice tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Slice takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Kokz Slice overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Kokz Slice has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Qwerty is defended easily by Slice.

Qwerty rushes Slice and presses him up against the cage.

Slice successfully pulls guard.
Slice has control of Qwerty's left arm, preventing Qwerty from doing any damage.
Qwerty trying to stand up but can't free himself from Slice's guard.

Slice is looking for a triangle but Qwerty pushes his legs off easily.

Qwerty preventing the sweep.
Slice will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Slice working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Qwerty.
Slice managing to control the position.
Slice utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Slice is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Qwerty dives into side control.

Qwerty trying to control the position but Slice is working away.
Slice sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Qwerty prevents Slice from improving his position.
Nice strikes from Qwerty there.
Slice trying to control from the bottom.
Qwerty is pressing down on Slice's thigh, looking to free his foot. Slice is holding on for now.
Qwerty missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Slice pushes Qwerty off looking to stand but Qwerty dives back in and keeps control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Qwerty is trying to work for a kimura but Slice is defending well.
Slice has his hands clasped together around Qwerty's back. He's all about the action.
Slice tries to roll over but Qwerty keeps him under control.
Qwerty is thwarting Slice's attempts to control the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Slice is trying to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kokz Slice dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Qwerty slips a jab and a cross from Slice.
Slice wants to clinch up but Qwerty keeps it at a distance.
Slice tries to close the distance and clinch up but Qwerty swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Qwerty tries for a takedown but Slice circles away easily

and Slice counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Slice.
Slice lands a couple of digs.
Slice is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Qwerty keeping moving, preventing Slice from controlling successfully.
Qwerty lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Slice!
Qwerty takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Qwerty prevents Slice from getting the reversal.
Slice wants to control but Qwerty is having none of it.

Qwerty working for a guillotine from mount but Slice is in no mood to give up.
Qwerty avoids the attempt from Slice to control.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Qwerty cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Slice is looking to improve his position but Qwerty isn't that keen on the idea.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Slice wants to control but Qwerty is having none of it.
Qwerty throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Slice is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Slice really wants to buck Qwerty off and get back to his feet.
Slice can't escape the position.
Slice holds on to Qwerty around his waist, trying desperately to prevent any attacks.
Qwerty trying to control but he's not successful this time.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Qwerty thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Slice manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Qwerty tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Slice.
Qwerty is looking to take a break and control but Slice is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Slice keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Qwerty landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Slice manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Slice misses with a few strikes there.
Slice tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Qwerty manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Qwerty shoots in for a double leg but Slice sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Slice throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Qwerty was covering up waiting for the punch and Slice finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Slice postures up and lands a big shot to Qwerty's brow.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Slice is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Slice seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Qwerty for as long as he can get away with.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kokz Slice showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Slice has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
