Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mohamed Ahmed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brock Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thompson has chosen Metallica- Dont Tread on Me as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson tries to bum rush Ahmed with a series of wild strikes but Ahmed uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Thompson tries to clinch but Ahmed moves out of range.
Thompson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Thompson has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Ahmed dives in for a single leg takedown but Thompson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Ahmed tries to pull guard but Thompson holds him up against the cage and eventually Ahmed drops back down to his feet.

Ahmed is looking to pass into half guard but Thompson pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Thompson is in guard.

Thompson tries to stand but Ahmed is controlling from the bottom.

Thompson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Ahmed tries a head kick but it misses.
Thompson throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Thompson moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

It looks like Mohamed Ahmed has been cut.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Thompson.
Thompson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ahmed circles away quickly and effectively.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Thompson is defended easily by Ahmed.
Thompson throws a right and a left that Ahmed avoids nicely.

Ahmed shoots for a double leg takedown but Thompson sprawls well. He's pushed Ahmed's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ahmed looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ahmed defending well as Thompson loads up on a big left hand.

Ahmed fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Ahmed tries to score a power double leg takedown but Thompson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ahmed somewhat.
Thompson cracks Ahmed with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Ahmed gets tackled into the cage by Thompson. Thompson maintains the clinch.

Thompson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ahmed tries to avoid it but Thompson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ahmed to the ground. Ahmed escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Ahmed. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Thompson wobbles Ahmed with a right hand and the left hook that follows puts him on his rear! Thompson dives in with a huge flying punch that connects right on the button and puts Ahmed to sleep! - What a violent and spectacular finish!
