Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Aiden McIlvey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eliseo Seterra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Seterra comes into a darkened arena with his song building. My TIme Is Now kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Aiden McIlvey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eliseo Seterra!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Ian Loll and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Seterra works McIlvey's body with a nice hook.
Seterra lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McIlvey circles away quickly and effectively.
Seterra lands a glancing blow to the side of McIlvey's head.
Seterra circles away from the clinch attempt.
McIlvey moves to clinch but Seterra breaks away
and Seterra counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Seterra misses with a few strikes there.
Seterra takes a swing at McIlvey's ribcage but misses.

McIlvey forces Seterra back against the cage and clinches.
McIlvey with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Seterra is trying to break the clinch but McIlvey has him pressed against the cage.
McIlvey tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Our sources have told us that McIlvey has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.

McIlvey moves forwards but Seterra connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Seterra comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

McIlvey goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Seterra is on top in guard.

McIlvey pulls Seterra in close to his closed guard and prevents Seterra from doing any damage or advancing position.

Seterra must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Seterra got a little sloppy there for a moment and McIlvey has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Seterra has managed to get both his arms back between McIlvey's legs - danger averted.
McIlvey has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

McIlvey throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Seterra was covering up waiting for the punch and McIlvey finishes the takedown easily into guard.
McIlvey is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Seterra looking for a sweep. Not yet Seterra, not yet.
Seterra is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
McIlvey tries to free his leg and advance position but Seterra is retaining full guard.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Seterra lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Eliseo Seterra seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

McIlvey on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
McIlvey is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Seterra stuns McIlvey with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

McIlvey jumps guard and drags Seterra to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

McIlvey has his foot on Seterra's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Seterra works his way back into a safe position though.

McIlvey is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Seterra defends well.
Aiden McIlvey overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

McIlvey is trying to control the position but Seterra postures up.
Seterra really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McIlvey. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McIlvey is staying active underneath Seterra, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Seterra wants to stand up but McIlvey has a hold of him and won't allow it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
