Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Luciano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Newbomb Turk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luciano slips under a jab from Turk.
Luciano misses with a few strikes there.

Turk connects with a crisp jab.
Luciano misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Turk connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

and Turk counters with a nice uppercut.

Turk takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

and Turk counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Luciano thinking.

Turk throws a hook to the side of Luciano's head but Luciano sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

We've been hearing reports that Luciano has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Luciano will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Luciano does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Luciano takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Luciano drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Turk manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Luciano has Turk in his guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Luciano tries to bum rush Turk with a series of wild strikes but Turk uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Luciano throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

It looks like Newbomb Turk has been cut.

Luciano rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Turk moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Turk is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Luciano has his hands clasped together but Turk extends and breaks Luciano's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Turk.
