Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Witt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raato Karpanen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel Witt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Raato Karpanen!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Gwen Towbar and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Karpanen tries for a takedown but Witt manages to get underhooks.
Karpanen just leaning against Witt, taking a breather.
Witt lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Witt tries to land a knee to the head but Karpanen blocks with his arms.

Karpanen pulls Witt into guard.
Witt throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Karpanen works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Karpanen trying to keep a closed guard but Witt is proving a slippery customer.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Witt accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Karpanen controls Witt momentarily but Witt frees himself.
Witt has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Witt stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Karpanen.
Witt clinches but Karpanen breaks the clinch

so Karpanen counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Karpanen avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Witt is breathing heavily.
Karpanen prevents Witt from getting back to his feet.

Witt pushes Karpanen off and scrambles back to his feet.
Witt clinches but Karpanen breaks the clinch

and Karpanen counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Witt's guard now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Karpanen wants to control from the top but Witt keeps moving.

Karpanen forces his way into half guard.

Karpanen stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Karpanen looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Karpanen is looking to advance position but Witt won't allow it.
Karpanen stops Witt from getting back to his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Karpanen stalling away here and it's allowed Witt to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Witt has his feet on Karpanen's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Witt wants to clinch
and Karpanen counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Witt moves in looking to clinch but Karpanen pushes him off.
Witt closes the distance but Karpanen moves to the side

so Karpanen counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Witt uses the cage to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Raato Karpanen dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Karpanen counters with a series of strikes. Witt will be more careful next time no doubt.

and Karpanen holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Witt tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Witt prevents the takedown attempt.
Karpanen can't break the clinch.

Karpanen is looking to stand up but Witt isn't so interested in that idea.

Witt stands up from Karpanen's guard - Witt perhaps looking for a knockout.
Daniel Witt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Karpanen counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Witt!

Karpanen is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

and Karpanen counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Karpanen thows a huge punch but Witt dodges it nicely.

Well, if Karpanen is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Witt is trying to escape back to his feet but Karpanen uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Witt is squirming around, avoiding Karpanen's attempts to control the action.

Witt takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Karpanen lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Witt hang on?

Karpanen gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Karpanen feints and as Witt raises his hands in defense, Karpanen changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Witt working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Karpanen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Karpanen manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Witt looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Raato Karpanen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Witt's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Karpanen has picked Witt up - he's going for a ride! Karpanen dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Karpanen is keen to just control but Witt is a slippery customer.

Karpanen is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Witt is trying to stand.
Karpanen is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Witt isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Karpanen stacks Witt on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Karpanen!

Karpanen escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Horrible takedown by Witt or perhaps it was just good defense by Karpanen which made him look bad.
