Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Curtis Angel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricky Ricci (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ricky Ricci has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Curtis Angel's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Curtis Angel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ricky Ricci!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Angel takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Angel tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ricci defends well and Angel ends up having to push Ricci into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
We've been hearing reports that Angel has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Ricci wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
A frustrated look appears on Angel's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Angel has his foot on Ricci's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ricci works his way back into a safe position though.

Angel is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Angel is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Ricci is refusing to be controlled, as Angel sits in half guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Ricci is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ricci really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Angel. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ricci is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Angel lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Ricci hang on?

Angel swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Ricci is now in Angel's guard. A big mistake from Angel there, giving up the dominant position!
Ricci wants to stand but Angel has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Angel shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ricci pinned against the cage. Ricci gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Curtis Angel dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Ricci lands a glancing blow to the side of Angel's head.


It looks like Curtis Angel has been cut.
Angel shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ricci defends it nicely.
Angel goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Left hook, right uppercut from Angel.
Angel tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ricci sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Angel somewhat.

Ricci cracks a nice hook into Angel's ribs.

Angel looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ricci is fending him off so far but Angel persists. Nope, Ricci circles away and we're back to standing.

Nice shot lands for Ricci.
Ricci lands a big right hook! Angel looks hurt but is still standing! Ricci lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Angel falls down and Ricci dives in with a huge hammer fist! Angel's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Ricci runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Ricky Ricci!
