PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Camus De Aquario (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hagen Merak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Aquario might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Roots Bloody Roots. Hagen Merak told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Andrew Berry and Steven Brown.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Aquario closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Aquario lands in his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Aquario not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Aquario's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Camus De Aquario just wasn't active enough.
Merak waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Aquario.
Merak throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Aquario on the side of the head.

It looks like Camus De Aquario has been cut.
Merak closes the distance and lands a one-two.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Aquario moves out of range as Merak strikes.
Camus De Aquario seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Merak comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Aquario is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Merak's half guard.

Merak really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Aquario. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
