Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Polk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kasim Akande (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

18 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kasim Akande!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Ren Mimura and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Polk displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Akande.
Akande shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Polk manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Akande pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Polk is keeping the position for now.
Akande is looking to work some ground and pound but Polk has wrist control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Polk has Akande pulled in close to control his posture.
Polk not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Akande trying to control the position from guard on top but Polk is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Akande not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Joe Polk just wasn't active enough.
Polk throws a nice head kick!
Nice defenses there by Polk.
Akande has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Polk.
Akande looks to score with a jab to the body but Polk is just out of range.
Polk throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Kasim Akande seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Akande lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Polk circles away quickly and effectively.
Polk lands with a slapping head kick.
Polk stuffs the takedown.
Akande scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Akande swings around for an armbar but Polk sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Akande's guard.
Akande looking to hit a scissor sweep but Polk is one step ahead there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Akande had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Polk defends it easily.

Polk showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Polk wants to get up but he can't break Akande's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Akande is pulling down on Polk's head to control his posture.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Akande is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Polk has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Akande is proving hard to escape from.
Akande is looking to cinch up a triangle. Polk throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Akande's body to avoid the submission. Akande has instead reached around Polk's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Akande arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
