PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ernest Hemingway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mac Jonson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Mac Jonson was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ernest Hemingway!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Mac Jonson!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Steven Brown and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hemingway shoots in for a double leg but Jonson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Jonson throws a nice looking combination but Hemingway bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Jonson is looking to clinch but Hemingway is avoiding it.
Jonson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Jonson shoots in and bounces Hemingway off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Hemingway manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jonson manages to get himself to full guard.
Hemingway trying to control but Jonson is working from the bottom.
Hemingway pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jonson is keeping the position for now.

Hemingway is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Jonson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Hemingway looking to pass the guard.
Jonson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Jonson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Hemingway looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Jonson has picked Hemingway up and slammed him! Hemingway can't keep hold of the triangle and Jonson manages to pass to side control!

Jonson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jonson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Jonson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hemingway is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jonson in side control, throwing shots but Hemingway defends.
Hemingway manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Hemingway won't allow Jonson to pass to mount.
Hemingway is positioning himself well to prevent Jonson advancing to mount.
Hemingway works his way to full guard. Good work.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Jonson wants to control from the top but Hemingway keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hemingway looking for a triangle here. Jonson is fighting it but it looks tight! Hemingway pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Jonson is tapping out - this one is all over!
