PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Urijah Brandao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terry Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brandao comes to the cage accompanied by Pharell Williams - Happy. Thomas has chosen Primal Concrete Sledge as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brandao lands a big head kick that sends Thomas tumbling to the mat! Brandao takes a step backwards and waves Thomas back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Terry Thomas has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Thomas counters with a single leg into guard. Brandao didn't expect that.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Terry Thomas was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Brandao throws a series of punches but Thomas moves out of range.

Thomas closes the distance and clinches.

Brandao is trying to maintain a safe position but Thomas gets an underhook and turns Brandao into the cage.

Brandao drops back, looking for a kneebar! Thomas looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Thomas looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Thomas!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Thomas wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Brandao, who protects the arm well.

Thomas wants to stand but Brandao has his arm trapped.
Thomas is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Brandao will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Thomas tries to stand but Brandao is controlling his head.

Thomas tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Thomas has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Thomas stands up and beckons Brandao to his feet.

Let's hope that Thomas has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brandao is trying to stand up here but Thomas is controlling him well.

Thomas is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Brandao sees it coming and defends easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Thomas works his foot free and advances to mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Terry Thomas will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Thomas breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Brandao shoots in looking for a takedown. Thomas tries to sprawl out of it but Brandao keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Thomas manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
