The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Famianto shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Grigoriev is trying to defend but Famianto finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Grigoriev gets back to full guard.

Famianto is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Grigoriev drops back looking for a leg! Famianto is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Famianto manages to kick Grigoriev off! Grigoriev jumps back into Famianto's guard.

Grigoriev tries to free his leg and advance position but Famianto is retaining full guard.
Grigoriev postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Grigoriev is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Grigoriev wants to control from the top but Famianto keeps moving.
Grigoriev seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Grigoriev slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Grigoriev distracts Famianto with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Famianto is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Grigoriev is controlling him.
Grigoriev stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Famianto swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Grigoriev has gone for a leg lock! Famianto slips out almost immediately though and dives into Grigoriev's guard.

Grigoriev working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Famianto doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Famianto manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Grigoriev is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Famianto defends well.

Famianto got a little sloppy there for a moment and Grigoriev has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Famianto has managed to get both his arms back between Grigoriev's legs - danger averted.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Famianto has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Grigoriev to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Famianto is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Grigoriev pulls down on the head and he's put Famianto to sleep! This one is all over!
