The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cotton uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Silva.

Silva changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cotton looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Silva wants to control but Cotton is keeping him busy.
Silva looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Cotton wants to improve his position but Silva is controlling well.

Silva is looking to take a break and control but Cotton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Silva decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Cotton, up you get!
Silva closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cotton circles away.

and Silva makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Silva enables Cotton to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Silva manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Silva bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cotton's guard.

Silva is nestled in close to Cotton, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
