Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chen Chong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Siri Khalsa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chen Chong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Siri Khalsa!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Emerson Jorge and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chong stuffs the takedown attempt from Khalsa. Khalsa gets slowly back to his feet.
Khalsa walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Chong moves into the clinch.

Khalsa is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Khalsa has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Chong avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Chen Chong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Siri Khalsa.

and Chong counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Chong.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Khalsa breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Khalsa finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Khalsa misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Khalsa shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Chong but Chong pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Khalsa avoids a punch combination nicely.

enabling Chong to counter with a crisp jab.
No joy there for Chong, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Khalsa walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Khalsa keeps the fight on the outside.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Chen Chong will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Chong clinches.

Khalsa breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nice takedown defense from Khalsa. No joy for Chong on that attempt.
Khalsa throws a leg kick which misses Chong's front leg but catches the back leg as Chong tries to avoid it.
Khalsa fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Chong ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Khalsa closes the distance looking to clinch
and Chong connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Chong circles away from the clinch attempt.
Khalsa wants to clinch but Chong slips to the side
and Chong counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Khalsa lands a nice leg kick that just misses Chong's sensitive parts.

Khalsa is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Chong gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Chong looks to land a combination but Khalsa avoids it well.

and Chong counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Khalsa's guard now.
Chen Chong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Siri Khalsa.
Khalsa wants to stand but Chong is controlling the position.
Khalsa has his hands on Chong's head, controlling the position.
Khalsa bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Chong's guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Chong might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Chong can't keep his opponent in guard - Khalsa advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

and Chong cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Chong is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Siri Khalsa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Khalsa shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Chong lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Chong thuds his right hand into Khalsa's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
The fight stays on the outside here - Khalsa looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Khalsa shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Chong pinned against the cage. Chong gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Khalsa is not content to let Chong control the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

A decent looking cross lands there for Chong.

Chong throws a right and a left that Khalsa avoids nicely.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Khalsa shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Chong's guard.

Khalsa pushes Chong off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Khalsa has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Chong finds it's way round the side to connect with Khalsa's head.
Chong cracks Khalsa with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Khalsa keeps control of Chong as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Chong wants to get back to striking at distance but Khalsa won't allow it.

and Chong counters with a left and a right that stings Khalsa.

Chong scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Chong shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Khalsa as he jumps to the side.

Chong shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Khalsa but Khalsa pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Chong connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Khalsa's hands.
Khalsa looks to land a combination but Chong avoids it well.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Chong, as that shot connected.
No joy there for Chong, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Khalsa is rocked!

Khalsa tries to keep at a distance but Chong has taken the fight into the clinch.
Khalsa is still on wobbly legs! Can Chong finish him?
Khalsa is pressed up against the cage. Chong has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Khalsa down to the mat. Khalsa avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Khalsa seems to have recovered his senses.

letting Chong counter with a right hand.

Khalsa is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Horrible takedown by Khalsa or perhaps it was just good defense by Chong which made him look bad.
Khalsa moves in looking to clinch but Chong pushes him off.
Chong rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Khalsa moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Khalsa moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Khalsa shoots in but no luck this time.

Chong scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Khalsa wants to control but Chong postures up.
Khalsa is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Chong is controlling him well.
Siri Khalsa has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Chen Chong showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Chong, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
