PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cyrus Ellis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jakub Kazulski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jakub Kazulski was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of New York, Cyrus Ellis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jakub Kazulski!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, John Kavanagh and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kazulski gets a clinch.

Ellis successfully pulls guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Kazulski is stalling in the full guard.
Ellis will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Ellis manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kazulski manages to get himself to full guard.
Kazulski is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Ellis landing some decent shots from guard.

Kazulski has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ellis can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Kazulski wants to control the position but Ellis says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ground and pound from Ellis.

Ellis gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Kazulski shoots in for a takedown but Ellis shows good takedown defense.

Ellis clinches.
Ellis wants a takedown but no success here.

Ellis jumps guard and drags Kazulski to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ellis controls Kazulski momentarily but Kazulski frees himself.
Ellis trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ellis lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Kazulski!
Kazulski tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Ellis avoids the attempt from Kazulski to control.
Ellis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kazulski is looking to improve his position but Ellis isn't that keen on the idea.
Ellis scoring with strikes but Kazulski is staying in there.
Kazulski should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Kazulski is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Ellis lands a big shot there that rocks Kazulski but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Ellis with shots to the head and body - Kazulski looks very uncomfortable down there.
Ellis lands with some strikes.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Ellis landing strikes from the mount.
Ellis lands a big elbow.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ellis connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Ellis controlling his opponent.
Ellis breaks from Kazulski's wrist control and lands an elbow.


Kazulski is rocked!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A big strike lands for Ellis! That's really hurt Kazulski and he's turned his back - Ellis keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Ellis jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cyrus Ellis!
