Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Shamrock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dack Fayden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bobby Shamrock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dack Fayden!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fayden shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Shamrock as he avoids it easily.
Fayden shoots in but Shamrock avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Fayden walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Shamrock misses with a right hand

so Fayden counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Fayden drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Shamrock manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Fayden has Shamrock in his guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Shamrock stands and steps away. Fayden gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
We've been told by Shamrock's head coaches at DUDES GYM...inc..CBK that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Fayden shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Shamrock as he jumps to the side.
Bobby Shamrock has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dack Fayden.
Danga de danga de dang - Shamrock scores with a four punch combination!


It looks like Dack Fayden has been cut.

Shamrock connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Shamrock lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Shamrock loads up on a big right hand but Fayden slips the punch.
Shamrock looks to land a right hand but Fayden moved out of range.
Fayden displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Shamrock throws out the jab.
Fayden walks into a stiff left hand from Shamrock.
Shamrock displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Fayden uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Shamrock.
Bobby Shamrock is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Shamrock swings widly with a right hand

and Fayden counters with a nice double leg into side control. Shamrock won't be happy with that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Shamrock is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Shamrock trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
My spies in Eternal Evil Training Centre inform me that Fayden has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Fayden works to advance to full mount. Shamrock defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Fayden is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Shamrock to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Shamrock shrugs it off.

Fayden wants to free his trapped foot but Shamrock is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Fayden is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Fayden stops Shamrock from getting back to his feet.

Fayden looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Dack Fayden will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Dack Fayden's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Shamrock lands a glancing blow to the side of Fayden's head.
Fayden slips under a jab from Shamrock.
Shamrock swings widly with a right hand

and Fayden counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Fayden won't allow Shamrock to get back to his feet.
Fayden stands and throws Shamrock's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Fayden is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Shamrock is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Fayden looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shamrock is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Fayden asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Shamrock prevents Fayden from moving into mount.
Dack Fayden has got the better of the ground game so far.

Fayden goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Shamrock rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Fayden's guard! Nice work there by Shamrock!

Shamrock has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Fayden looking for a guillotine here but Shamrock defends easily.

Fayden with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Shamrock to score with a decent uppercut.

Fayden takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Shamrock lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters circling - Shamrock throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Fayden throws a jab but it's blocked by Shamrock.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Bobby Shamrock will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Shamrock manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Fayden keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Shamrock breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bobby Shamrock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Fayden counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Shamrock's guard now.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Fayden wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Shamrock, who protects the arm well.

Fayden tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Fayden has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Fayden uses his free foot to push down on Shamrock's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Shamrock.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Fayden with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Dack Fayden comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Fayden has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
