The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Konovalov gets tackled into the cage by Loiseau. Loiseau maintains the clinch.

Loiseau pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Konovalov shoots for a takedown but Loiseau saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Loiseau throws a shot to the body.
Konovalov shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Loiseau counters with a straight right hand.
Loiseau avoids the body shot from Konovalov.
Konovalov fails to land with a series of punches.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andrey Konovalov. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Loiseau connects with a looping right hand.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Konovalov shoots in and bounces Loiseau off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Loiseau pulls Konovalov in close to prevent any damage.

Konovalov postures up in Loiseau's guard and throws a big left but Loiseau blocks it.
Loiseau is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Loiseau wants to stand and escape but Konovalov is having none of it.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Henry Loiseau hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Konovalov throws a combination that misses

and Loiseau counters with a head kick that drops Konovalov to the mat! Konovalov scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

Konovalov is rocked!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Oh Konovalov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Loiseau scores with a takedown into Konovalov's guard.
Loiseau arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Konovalov's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
