Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Boba Smrad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Aldo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smrad comes to the cage accompanied by Balls To The Wall. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice leg kick lands there from Aldo.
Smrad dives in and grabs Aldo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Aldo pushes down on Smrad's head and hops out.
A big right from Aldo misses.
Smrad takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Smrad feints and as Aldo raises his hands in defense, Smrad changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Smrad throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Aldo works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Smrad has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

We've been hearing good reports from Smrad's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
