PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Dween (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones has chosen AC/DC - Thunderstruck as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jimmy Dween!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Carlos Jones!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, David Hoff and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A right-left combo lands from Jones.
Dween throws a series of punches but Jones moves out of range.
Jones throws a right and a left that both miss.
Dween with a lazy takedown attempt
and Jones counters with a right hand to the body.
Dween fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Jones throws a right and a left that Dween avoids nicely.
Dween tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Dween scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dween shoots for a takedown but Jones saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Dween could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Jones throws a series of punches but Dween moves out of range.

Dween shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Jones is trying to defend but Dween finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dween is taking a breather. Jones says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The fighters are battling for position here. Jones manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Jones is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Jones throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Dween stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Dween looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jones is fending him off so far but Dween persists. Nope, Jones circles away and we're back to standing.
Sloppy strikes from Jones. Those never looked like landing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carlos Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Carlos Jones is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Dween shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jones sprawls well. Jones wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dween gets slowly back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jones stalks Dween and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Dween's face. Dween staggers backwards, shaken.

And that's the end of the fight!
Carlos Jones comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Jones winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
